How to Handle Failed Deliveries and Stops in Qargo

Managing failed deliveries and stops effectively is crucial for maintaining accurate trip data and ensuring operational continuity. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for handling common scenarios involving failed deliveries and stops in the Qargo application.

Managing Failed Deliveries

Scenario 1: Pickup Failed, but Pickup Data Should Remain on the Same Trip

If a pickup fails but you want to retain the pickup data on the same trip, follow these steps:

  1. Open the order in the Qargo application.

  2. Navigate to the Consignments section.

  3. Identify the consignment associated with the failed delivery.

  4. Select the consignment and choose the Cancel Consignment option.

Effect: The cancelled consignment will remain visible with a status of "CANCELLED." Its associated stops will be removed from routing, but the collection data will remain on the trip, preserving the trip's integrity.

Scenario 2: Failed Delivery Requiring Depot Storage and Continuation on a Second Trip

To model a failed delivery that requires interim storage at a depot and continuation on a second trip, follow these steps:

  1. Add an incident to the consignment for the failed delivery and select the Replan option. Enable the setting to cross-dock goods at a depot.

  2. Remove the original depot stop from the order. This step is necessary because the original depot stop applies only to one consignment and can prevent correct splitting.

  3. Insert a depot unload/load stop after the incident. This action groups the affected consignments at the depot and correctly splits them for the second trip leg.

  4. Plan the second trip leg from the depot to the next destinations as required.

Effect: This process ensures that the transfer via the depot is accurately represented, and consignments are correctly split between trip legs.

Maintaining Accurate Trip Data

By following the above procedures, you can ensure that:

  • Failed deliveries are properly documented.

  • Stops and consignments are accurately managed within the Qargo application.

  • Trip data remains consistent and reliable for reporting and operational purposes.
