Q. Is it possible to see what the insurance value is for the cargo on an order? How would I make sure that the subcontractor I use has valid insurance that covers the value of my freight?

A. Yes! It is possible to set an insurance value for the cargo on an order. It is also possible to add Subcontractor Liability insurance details on the subcontractor profile. This is where the validity dates and the total amount of coverage can be added.

Adding subcontractor insurance details

  • Navigate to the subcontractor profile (RESOURCES > Subcontractors)

  • From the subcontractor profile, scroll to the bottom of the profile and locate the 'Insurance documents' panel

  • Click 'Add item' to add the details of the insurance document being uploaded.

    • Select correct insurance 'type'

    • Add valid from & to dates

    • (Optional) Toggle unavailability on to restrict planning resource if insurance is not within the validity date range

      • Set date to make resource unavailable

    • (Optional) Add description to show what the insurance covers

      • This is displayed on the main panel for easy visibility

    • Drag or click to add the E-copy of the insurance document

📚 Insurance: Insurance of a subcontractor.

📚 Liability Insurance: Insurance coverage protecting against claims for injury or damage by the subcontractor.

📚 Motor Insurance: Insurance coverage specifically for vehicles and their operation.
