Pricing orders can be complex, often requiring users to complete manual formulas to account for freight loading configurations. Using a pre-set calculation for loading metres and / or pallet spaces can simplify this complicated order entry requirement. Automatically calculating loading metres introduces efficiency and reduces risk of data errors.
Configuration requirements
Additional fields required
For full visibility, ensure the following fields are set to 'Active'.
Navigate to CONFIGURATION > Additional Fields.
Stackable toggle
Toggle on / off to indicate if the item is stackable.
ProTip: If using a pre-filled loading meter (LM) value in predefined package sizes, this will show an alert 'changed manually by user'. This can easily be removed by clicking the 'revert' arrow. The pre-filled data is removed, and the LM calculation will be used instead.
π If user preference is to use loading metre calculations by default, remove the pre-fills in the package size.
Calculation Syntax Guide
When entering the calculations for loading metres or pallet space using the correct operations are important. Use these operators to build formulas:
+
Add-
Subtract*
Multiply/
Divide()
Group operations for order of execution
Creating calculations
Set a loading metre calculation
To create a calculation, navigate to the RATES > Order Input menu
On the left menu panel, under 'Cargo Options' select 'Loading meter calculations'
Click 'Add Calculation'
π Set toggle on to allow Customer Portal users the option to enter their own values. The default is to prevent this and the user will see the green field 'calculation on save'.
Calculation Field: Click in the field to expose metric icons, or simply type {{ and the list will show.
Select the required variables from the list of available options:
Goods (ordered) > Height
Goods (ordered) > Length
Goods (ordered) > Weight
Goods (ordered) > Width
These are the dimensions entered on the Order Entry page when completing the order details.
If required, add conditions to allow multiple calculations to be added
For instance if using both stackable and non-stackable pallets, individual calculations can be set up.
Click SAVE once the calculation parameters are entered.
Name the Calculation table. Use this especially if multiple calculations will be used.
Copy / Delete functions. Delete the whole calculation (top delete) or the individual conditions.
Copy the entire calculation to quickly enter multiple tables and edit to adjust specific fields.
Calculation. Select the variables to include, and create the calculation. (See Calculation Syntax.)
Conditions. Add conditions to create a particular set of criteria required for the calculation to be used.
βΌοΈ Conditions are processed using a first match rule, make sure to order conditions to ensure accuracy.
Set a pallet space calculation
To create a calculation, navigate to the RATES > Order Input menu
On the left menu panel, under 'Cargo Options' select 'Pallet space calculations'
Click 'Add Calculation'

Using calculations in orders
When building an order, click 'ADD PIECE DIMENSIONS', when adding Cargo
If pre-defined under package size, these will pre-fill, but can be updated if required.
Pallet spaces and loading metres will show in Green with a 'Calculated after save' note.
π Customer portal users will see this if they are restricted from adding the dimensions.
Troubleshooting
1.) Error warning in the order under the Consignment panel. This indicates that piece dimensions (l x h x w) are missing from the order entry, and the calculation could not be performed.
Resolution:
Edit the order to add the missing dimensional data. Re-SAVE the details and the calculation will update on the order.
2. Unable to see the icons showing loading meters or pallet spaces in the order.
Resolution:
Update the 'Edit Columns' Button on the ORDERS LIST page to enable the Quantity, loading metres and pallet spaces, etc.
