Q. As a company that prices shipments based on chargeable weight how do I configure accurate revenue splits for orders directly from the transport service? We use distance travelled to split revenue, however need to account for the chargeable weight metric when calculating the revenue. Is this possible to do in Qargo?
A. Yes! You can now use chargeable weight as a calculation metric when configuring revenue split override rules on a transport service.
Chargeable weight can be used, just like it is already used for revenue calculations at the order level — making it possible to configure accurate revenue splits for shipments priced on chargeable weight.
What is chargeable weight?
Chargeable weight is the higher value between the actual (gross) weight of a shipment and its volumetric (dimensional) weight. Transport companies that price shipments based on chargeable weight can now reflect this directly in their revenue split configuration.

How to configure a chargeable weight override rule
Navigate to RATES > Order Input > Transport Services.
Open the relevant transport service and scroll to the Revenue calculation section.
Under Split Revenue over trips based on (*), click + Add exception to open the override rule configuration.
In the metric dropdown, select Chargeable weight as your calculation basis.
Configure the override using your preferred method: fixed amount, formula, or price table.
Click Save to apply the rule.
📚 Override rules support the same configuration options as the base revenue split — fixed amounts, formulas, and price tables with chargeable weight as the input.
Changes to the revenue split configuration on a transport service are not applied retroactively to existing orders. Only new orders, or orders where prices are manually recalculated, will use the updated split rules.
