Expanded pricing consolidation options: combine charges for orders on same trip based on exact location, full postal code, or prefix only.

When pricing multiple orders on a single trip, our system now offers enhanced location-matching criteria for consolidation:

  • Exact Location Matching (existing functionality): Consolidates pricing when locations are exactly the same across orders

  • Postal Code Matching (new): Consolidates pricing when postal codes match, even if specific addresses differ

  • Postal Code Prefix Matching (new): Consolidates pricing when just the postal code prefix matches (e.g., UK, NL)

The consolidation feature is particularly valuable when multiple orders with similar collection or delivery points are placed on the same trip. Previously, addresses needed to match exactly to qualify for consolidated pricing. Now, you can define the level of location matching required.

For example, when two orders:

  • Are assigned to the same trip

  • Share the same postal code for collection addresses

  • Use a rate card with consolidation set to "collection address & same trip" at "postal code" level

The system will automatically combine the charges across both orders, leading to more efficient pricing calculations.

It is possible to consolidate on:

  • Exact location: the location must be exactly the same on the different orders (this functionality was already present)

  • Postal code: the postal code of the addresses must be the same

  • Postal code prefix: only the postal code prefix (UK, NL..) of the addresses must be the same

In the example below, two orders are using a price table on a rate card that is using price consolidation on collection address & same trip and is set to consolidate on postal code.

Both orders have the same postal code in the collection address and have been added to the same trip.

This means that the charge on the order will be consolidated over the two orders.

Benefits

  • More Consolidation Opportunities: Identify more potential consolidation scenarios with flexible matching criteria

  • Greater Pricing Accuracy: Apply the right level of price consolidation for your business model

  • Simplified Billing: Create cleaner, more logical invoices for customers with multiple pickups/deliveries in similar areas
