Configuring a charge template uses the same workflow found throughout Qargo when adding charges / costs, etc.

Navigate to CONFIGURATION>Charge Template

Click 'Add Charge Template'.

Complete the details under General Info, as described in THIS article.

Define collection & set validity.

Click the 'New Collection' title. Give the collection a name that is recognisable, ie: charge/customer, etc. If no name is given the title will automatically change when the 'Valid from' date is entered. If no dates are entered, the collection is set to 'Valid on any date'.

  • It is possible to create multiple collections - click '+Add Collection'.

  • Collection Valid From / To dates CANNOT overlap.

  • It is possible to create multiple calculations, with conditions within each Collection.

  • Example: Customer rates are set for the year, but have multiple options, These would be created in the single collection, using the 'Add Calculation' and 'Add Condition' options.

Price Calculation.

Add Calculation:

When adding Price calculations there are 3 options available to start the Calculations.

FIXED AMOUNT: Add a single charge; the only options available to apply are either Per Order or Per Packaging type/product.

FORMULA: Add a specific charge based on a particular set of Metrics, ie: distance, goods ordered, route, etc. Each Metric has an additional set of options that can be selected, that will drive the specific pricing.

PRICE TABLE: This is the most complex pricing and involves the setup of an additional price table, which includes it's own set of metrics and rates. The price table looks at the selected option to determine the final price. These tables are often used for pricing tiers or geographic / post code regions.

Select the most appropriate calculation method for the charges being added and add the relevant pricing metrics, ie: rate amount / distance format, etc.

Add Conditions.

In instances where additional rates apply, based on a set of criteria, these can be set up using the 'Conditions' option. Each price calculation can have additional conditions as required.

Example: Charge Template set up for a Price Table
