Configure rate card with fixed prices, for collection and delivery route based on postcode ranges, and specific collect and delivery stops.

Introduction.

Setting up rate cards for the variety of pricing models can be quite a task. This article will look at one a pricing model that has a fixed price based on delivery and collection points. The price list will be based on both Post Code ranges and specific stop locations, for both collection and delivery points. This will be configured in a Price Table, that will generate the Transport Charge.

Parameters:

  1. Based on stop locations, determined by postcodes, set as a range

  2. Fixed price based on the route (Collection - Delivery)

  3. OPTION: Based on stop locations, determined by specific stop location postcodes

Configuring the Rate Card

Navigate to Rate & Rate Card Customers.

Click 'Create price list' this will open a new screen.

Select the Transportation Service the new price list is associated with. Give the Price List a name, use something that will help to easily identify it. Set a Valid from date. If no date is set, the default will be the date the list was created.

There is an option to set the price list as a default for all customers if required. Otherwise, the price list should be linked to specific customers.

To add the specific charges, click the Edit Icon (pencil) on the Transport Charge line. This will open the 'Edit Price' screen.

Under Calculation 1: Enter the option for Price Table, with the result as Fixed Amount.

Click Edit price table to configure the rate card metrics.

Price based on Route (Collect AND Delivery)

  • Select Metric to include Postcode area and Country.

  • Postcode: Full or Prefix: based on country format for postcodes. Prefix offers widest scope for a range.

  • Configure the table using the filter type BETWEEN for a postcode range or EQUALS for specific stop locations.

  • Select the stops 'First Collect' & 'Last Delivery' to get the start and end locations on the route.

Conditions:

Conditions can be added to calculations to create specific rating scenarios. Using multiple conditions added to individual calculations can create a specific rating behaviour; for instance if you only want the rate to apply to specific load sizes, you can add a condition for loading meters. Conditions can also be used to differentiate between multiple calculations and specify when specific calculations are used.
