You have multiple options to add consignments to an order.

Add consignments when you create an order

  • If your order will need multiple collects and/or deliveries, you can specify them when you are creating your order.

  • It is also possible to specify a planning preference:

  • Merge consignments on one trip

  • One trip per consignment

  • Note: If the transport service uses a default transport network or the order type is set to 'Groupage,' the 'Multiple Collections and Deliveries' options will be unavailable. Switching to a Dedicated order type can enable these options.

Pro Tip: One trip per consignment: Use this option to price per order instead of having an order per consignment.

  • If you select an option with multiple collects and/or deliveries, you will be able to add additional locations after entering the first pick-up and delivery location. You will then see the additional "Add consignment" button at the bottom of the entry screen.

  • If you select "multiple deliveries" you will be able to add additional delivery locations after entering the first pick-up and delivery location. Use this option if collecting from a single location and delivering to multiple locations (milk rounds).

  • If you select “multiple collect”, you can add additional pick-up locations. This allows you to quickly create multiple collections on one order.

If you want to add an additional collect or delivery after you have already created the order, you can click on "Edit order" to go back to editing.

NOTE: It is not possible to modify the option for Additional Collection / Deliveries once the order has been saved.

Add consignment after you have created an order

If you already created the order, and new consignments need to be added, you can navigate to the "Add info/consignment" dropdown to add additional consignments.

Add consignment from the overview page

On the Route Overview on your order, you will see a “+” icon to add extra consignments or stops to your order. Select the "Collect/Delivery" option. This will open the ADD CONSIGNMENT screen where you can set the position of the stop to be added.

Why do my stops look out of order on the planning board?

If your order has more than one consignment, you might notice that the stop sequence on the planning board looks different from the consignment list in the order. This is normal — here's why.

Consignment numbers vs. the planned route

When you create an order, each consignment gets a number (C1, C2, C3…) based on the order you added them. Those numbers don't change once the order is created.

When you plan the order on the planning board, you arrange the stops in the route that makes sense for the driver. That sequence is independent from the consignment numbers — Qargo doesn't automatically renumber consignments to match the route.

💡 Think of it this way: consignment numbers are like ticket numbers at a counter — they reflect when you arrived, not the order you'll be served.

Why can't Qargo just match them up automatically?

It gets complicated quickly. If you have 3 consignments but two of them are on one trip and the third is on a separate trip, there's no obvious way to number them in a way that reflects both routes at once. Rather than guess, Qargo keeps the consignment numbers fixed and lets you control the stop sequence on the planning board separately.

What you can do

If the stop order doesn't match what you need, you can adjust it manually:

  • For orders not yet planned: open the order → Execution section → Show routeEdit route → drag the stops into the right order.

  • For planned trips: go to Planning → open the trip → Edit route → drag the stops into the right order.

See Edit the stops of an order for full instructions.
