Summary
What
The Container Planning module shows container availability and recent movements, and supports quick assignment of containers (and trailers) while building trips.
Why
Clear container visibility reduces time spent searching for equipment, avoids double-booking, and keeps trip planning consistent across multiple order legs.
How
Use the Planning module to open the container view, filter and search for the correct container, then assign equipment while planning orders and trips. When multiple legs on one trip need the same container, use Assign previous container from the stop right‑click menu.
Use cases
Faster planning when a container stays on the same trip across multiple legs
Plan the first leg with the correct container, then copy the same container to the next leg using Assign previous container.
Quick equipment lookup and validation during planning
Use filters and search in Container Planning to confirm a container’s latest known location and recent movement before assigning.

Assigning the Previous Container/Trailer
What does this feature do?
It adds an Assign previous container (and Assign previous trailer) option to the right-click menu on a stop within a trip, copying the resource from the previous order leg.
Why does it matter?
Planners combining multiple orders on one trip no longer need to open each order to allocate the same container or trailer manually.
How does it work?
Right-clicking a stop shows the option when the previous order leg has a container or trailer allocated and the selected order does not. Selecting it copies the allocation across.
Prerequisites
The container or trailer fields must be enabled in the planning view for the option to appear. Contact Qargo Support or your Qargo Account Manager if this option is not enabled.
The previous order leg on the trip must already have an order-level container or trailer allocation.
Use Cases
A planner adds a collection leg as a reload to a delivery that already has a container assigned, then copies that container to the new order without leaving the trip view.

Troubleshooting
Issue | Resolution |
Container view not visible in Planning | Enable Containers in Planning customisation/settings so the Containers view is available. |
Container list feels incomplete for the selected day | Check the selected date range and filters; clear column filters to restore the full list. |
“Assign previous container” option not shown on right‑click | Confirm the previous order leg has a container assigned and the selected leg does not already have a container. |
“Assign previous container” updates only one leg | Use the action on each leg that needs the container; the action copies only from the immediately previous leg. |
Container appears unavailable unexpectedly | Verify trip completion status and planning dates; availability updates depend on recorded trip progress and the selected time window. |
