Q: How can I prevent system timeouts and gain better control when making bulk changes to rate cards and surcharges?
A: To ensure stable performance and precise data accuracy when managing large volumes of changes, the system provides several controls for charge recalculations:
Granular Recalculation Controls: Price lists can be recalculated specifically for a selected date range, eliminating the need to process all data and avoiding system timeouts.
Optimised Surcharge Updates: Updates to surcharge indices (like fuel surcharges) are optimised to only trigger recalculations for orders within relevant dates, ensuring stable performance when adding or updating customers.
Note on Processing Time and Invoicing:
All large-scale recalculation operations now occur in the background queue, meaning they will take some time to complete before the results are visible.
If immediate confirmation is required (e.g., to ensure charges are finalised before adding an order to an invoice), the Targeted Quick Action available on the Order and Trip Lists should be used to manually trigger the update.
