Intermodal operators maintain fixed schedules for their connections between transport hubs, allowing for predictable departure and arrival times. These timetables can be integrated into shipping orders, enabling precise planning of multimodal transport chains across rail, ferry, and other transportation modes.

  • Navigate to RESOURCES menu and 'Intermodal operators' submenu

  • Locate the intermodal operator to update the connection to.

  • Or Click 'Add Intermodal operator' to a new resource

  • Click on the operator to open the operator page.

If a Connection Timetable already exists it will show in the 'Intermodal Connections' panel.

  • Click the Pencil icon to update an existing schedule

  • Click 'Add intermodal connection' to add a new connection

Add a new connection:

  • Name - This should be named to identify the connection route

  • Modality - Ferry / Rail

  • Departure Station / Arrival Station

    • These should be in the Qargo Database, but if the location is missing use the search location / database options to find and add the location.

Please contact support if the intermodal operator is not to be found in the list of operators.

Add a timetable to a connection:

  • Click 'Add time table'. Multiple timetables can be added. Each timetable will be for a specific departure / arrival time.

  • Enter the days of the week that apply to this timetable.

  • Add the Departure / Arrival times - These should be the scheduled sailing times.

  • Add the Closing date (hours before departure): This is the number of hours BEFORE the scheduled departure time to be arrived.

  • Add Transit duration (days): This is the number of days (0 is acceptable) required to account for the transit.

If additional schedules are required, click 'Add Time table' to add additional schedules.

The routes are created as one way any return routes will need to be added individually.

Update Existing Connection

Where a connection already exists, it is possible to update clicking on the Pencil Icon next to the specific connection.

  • Edit any details, including timetables and click SAVE.

Refresh the page to show the new / updated connection details.
