Introduction
Trip Groups allows you to bundle trips together and assign a resource to it, so all trips will have that same resource. For example, you want to copy the route of a single resource, (ie: a container). You could use the resources on order:
Collect an empty container
Pickup some goods
Drop the container, for a ferry connection
Collect it again
Deliver the goods
Drop the empty container again, for the ferry connection
Drop it empty somewhere
This works easily for a single order, but if the scenario becomes more complex with multiple orders, there is no easy way of copying for that container.
Create a Trip Group
There are multiple ways to create a Trip Group. Once orders are planned into Trips, it is possible to add these to a Trip Group. If the trip group is created outside of the trip itself, there is the option to select the trip from a drop down list of available trips. Alternatively, entering the trip number will bring up the trip for selection.
You can do so from the detail page of a trip
Select an existing group and add to it
Or create a new one
Create one from the trips list, by a quick action
Create one from the trip groups list using the usual green button in the top right
Choose a name first
It is mandatory to select at least one trip to add to the group.
There is an option to create one when creating an intermodal connection
Where are Trip Groups displayed?
Trip Detail View page: additional row in the “General info” section, showing the linked trip group and its resource(s)
New submenu under “Trips”, showing a table of all Trip Groups
On both the Intermodal list page and Trips list page, there is a new column with “Trip group” that is filterable and sortable
On the planning board there is a new extra customise option
Add orders/trips to existing Trip Group.
Navigate to the the Trip Group detail page by either the list view or clicking the trip group tag of an existing trip, you see the following page:
The page has the following sections:
General info where you see:
Route
Summary of distance + duration of each trip
Toggle the visibility of the route
Trip Group display name
The resource assigned to the linked trips
Linking Orders
Navigate to the 'Orders' section and click“Add order”, the full order list is displayed with selection boxes.
Select the orders to add and click Add Selected Trips. This will open an new screen to Add Orders.
Confirm adding the order to the trip, then drag and drop the stops in the current trip group.
This exposes a powerful feature of Trips Group - easily add orders in your existing planning. If an intermodal order, the intermodal connection is automatically added. This reduces manual input to create each order with a connection, and simplifies adding orders together.
Linking Trips
Navigate to the Execution section. Click "Add trips".
To remove trips, using the three dots will give 2 options:
Unplan Trip
Remove trip from current trip group
Viewing Documents in the Trip Group
The Order Documents section in the trip group detail page now displays all documents aggregated from the orders and trips within the group.
Dispatchers and planners do not need to navigate into each individual order or trip to find relevant paperwork - all documents are surfaced in one place.
Documents are organised into two sub-sections:
Order Documents
Shows all documents attached to orders linked to trips in the trip group.
This includes both order-level documents and consignment documents (documents attached at the consignment level, below the order).
Each document displays a tag indicating which order it belongs to, making it straightforward to trace documents back to their source.
Trip Documents
Shows all documents attached to trips in the trip group.
Each document displays a tag indicating which trip it belongs to.
All documents are sorted by the creation timestamp of their parent order or trip, providing a logical chronological overview.
A few document types and actions are currently excluded from this view:
Stop-level documents are not shown here — access them on the individual trip detail page.
Direct uploads to the trip group are not supported — uploads must be made at the order or trip level.
Bulk download is not available from the trip group level — documents must be downloaded individually.
Updating trips in trip groups
Merge two trips together that are in a different trip group, we will show a notification if you want to merge the two trip groups
Move stops out of an existing trip, i.e. creating a new trip, will show a notification if you want to add the trip to the existing trip group
Revenue / Cost Calculation
The Revenue / cost calculation section on the trip group detail page gives you a consolidated financial overview of all trips in the group, so you can assess profitability at a glance — without opening each individual trip separately.
The section displays a summary table with one row per trip:
Column | What it shows |
Trip | Clickable link to the individual trip detail page |
Revenue assigned | The total revenue assigned to that trip |
Costs from trip | The total costs across all cost lines on that trip |
Total | Sum of revenue and costs for all trips, grouped per currency |
To view the Revenue / Cost Calculation:
Navigate to Trips → Trip Groups and open a trip group.
Scroll down to the Revenue / cost calculation section on the detail page.
The table loads automatically — no action needed.
Click any trip name in the first column to jump directly to that trip's detail page.
The table is read-only. Revenue splits and cost adjustments must still be made at the individual trip or order level — they cannot be edited from the trip group page.
