The optimisation feature in in Qargo is designed to automatically generate the most efficient routes for Groupage and Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments.
β
This process relies on an algorithm that takes into account various metrics to determine the optimal sequence of deliveries.
β
Key Metrics for Optimisation:
β
Time Windows: If there are defined πTime windowsin the order, we take these into account to generate the optimisation to define which order comes first.
β
Weight: We take both the weight of the shipments and maximum payload of the vehicles into consideration to optimise load distribution within the trip.
β
Volume: We take both the volume of the shipments and maximum volume of the vehicles into consideration to optimise load distribution /maximize space utilization within the trip.
β
βLoading Meters: We take the loading meters of both the orders and vehicles into consideration for proper accommodation.
βPallet Spaces: Define the number of pallet spaces needed for each order.
β
Data Entry Requirements:
To enable successful optimisation, it is imperative to fill in all the above metrics accurately int the order and in the vehicle capacity details(see: πCreating drivers/vehicles/containers).
Leaving any field blank may hinder the system's ability to generate optimal routes.
β
The completeness of this information ensures that the algorithm can perform its calculations effectively.
β
Important Notes:
If any order is removed from a trip, it is essential to trigger the re-optimisation function. This allows the algorithm to dynamically adjust the remaining orders and create a new optimal route without the removed order.
The system includes error-handling mechanisms. If any required metric is missing or incomplete, the system will issue a warning, preventing the optimisation process until the necessary information is provided.
By adhering to these guidelines, you can harness the full potential of the TMS optimisation feature, enhancing the efficiency of your groupage and LTL shipments.
How to apply optimisation in an existing trip:
Go to the trip page and scroll down to the route details
Click on Optimise route option
How to get optimisation suggestions while creating trips:
Use case: If you have several trucks and orders that you want to plan in a most effective way, you can use the optimise options to see the suggestions.
Select the orders you want to add to your groupage in the list of "to plan" orders.
Click on "create new trip"
Switch to the optimisation page
Set your start location and date/time information
Select the resources like resource combinations with trailers, trailers, containers, vans or rigids and Click on "next" to see the suggestions.
Once you have clicked the "next" button, you will get the suggestions as listed below(according to the dates and time windows that were set up in the order).
β οΈ The order of the stops can also be adjusted by dragging and dropping the lines before or after each other.
ββ οΈ If you see a suggestion with no resources, it might mean that you are exceeding the limit of the resource or some information is missing and not matching with the requirements.
To see the reason you can hover over the field 'no resources' and see the message appearing:
β
After adjusting the changes(if needed any) you can click on Create trip to see your planned trip number and assign driver and tractor to it(if applicable).
