Benefits of Always on planning board:
Ensures that specific resources or combinations are visible on the planning board daily.
Facilitates easy scheduling and monitoring of critical resources.
Streamlines the planning process by maintaining constant visibility of essential elements.
The "Always on Planning board" toggle is a feature that allows users to ensure visibility of specific combinations or single resources on the planning board every day.
This ensures that these resources are readily available in the Planboard view for scheduling and monitoring trips.
The option can be applied for single resource or resource combinations.
Enabling Always on planning board for fixed combinations:

If you have a specific driver-tractor combination that you use daily it will be useful to create a combination with the "Always on planning board" toggle.
To create the combination, Navigate to Resources and the Combinations tab.
Click on 'Add combination' button.
The 'Add Combination' page will open. Create the desired combination you want to have on the Planboard every day by simply selecting or searching the resources from the 'Combined Resources' field. This could be a driver and vehicle, vehicle and trailer, etc. Resources that are already combined will also show in this list.
Slide the 'Always on planning board' toggle on.
Apply the 👉Resource Group option for this combination (if applicable) and save the settings.
The combination is now be visible on the PlanBoard. It is possible to set resources, both individual and combined resources visible under different 'Resource Groups'. For instance, if you have resources allocated to ADR, they may not always run those routes, and can therefore be allocated to both the ADR group and another. This gives maximum visibility for all resources, across all groups.
To show resources in multiple resource groups, ensure the planning customise option 'Show Empty Resource Lines' is enabled on the PlanBoard. This will allow resources to be dragged / dropped into new resource groups, improving planning efficiency.
If a resource is allocated to a combination it will show in the Resource profile. From the Resources menu, select the appropriate submenu (Driver, Vehicle, etc). Each profile has a 'Resource Combination' panel which will show any combinations. To modify any details, use the 'Edit' function (pen icon). However, if a driver still appears on the planning board after a resource combination change, it might be because the driver persists as an individual resource within their profile. To completely remove the driver, toggle off the Always on planning board and Active fields in the driver's profile.

Changes to the combination can also be made in the Planboard by using the dropdown option. Click the resource will show a drop down menu, with options:
View Resource Profile (Eye icon): View & edit resource details
Set Resource Availability (Calendar icon): Update availability for resource
Edit resource combination (Pen icon): Set 'always on' visibility or combination
Change Resources (link / pen icon): List of all resources, new combination options can be set here for a particular day.
Set visibility in a Resource profile
Visibility can be set directly from the individual resource profile page
Go to the Resources menu and click on the resource type to update.
Select the resource to update by clicking on the resource ID.
Navigate to the 'Resource Combination' panel in the profile.
Click 'Add Combination'
From here, select the additional resources as above, and/or set the individual resource as 'always on planning board'. Save the profile to complete the update. To remove an individual resource from the planning board, open their profile and toggle off the 'Always on planning board' option. This action will ensure the resource is no longer listed or visible on the PlanBoard.
Troubleshooting Common Planning Board Issues
Driver Appearing in Wrong Resource Group
A driver can appear in the wrong resource group if their assigned trips are tied to other groups. To fix this:
Open and check the trips assigned to the driver.
Update the Resource Group field for each trip as needed.
Persisting Driver Visibility After Combination Changes
Drivers removed from combinations may still appear if listed as individuals. Ensure to toggle off Always on planning board in their profile.
Removing a Driver from Planning Board
To deactivate a driver entirely:
Open their profile.
Turn off Always on planning board and Active toggle. This will remove the driver completely from visibility. These steps provide resolutions for common visibility and grouping problems to optimize the planning experience.
