Configure surcharges to automatically add on orders; for instance toll, waiting hours etc.

  • Navigate to RATES> Order input

  • Click on 'General surcharges'

Add a new Surcharge

  • Click 'New general surcharge' and give the new charge a name.

📚 Adding the VAT and nominal codes will assist in efficient imports to accounting packages.

  • Select which service the charge should be active on

  • Save the charge

  • Create default charge template

  • Link the charge to

Adding conditions

In the event that a specific set of criteria must be in place to trigger a surcharge, this can be configured using conditions on the charge calculation.

  • If the calculation should apply automatically ensure the 'Always add to order' is toggled ON.

    • Use the 'Invoice process' option to 'only invoice if price >0' to only show when there is a charge applied.

  • Add the surcharge calculation, in the example shown it will be a % applied to the transport charge

    • Select the conditions to apply to the charge; in the example shown it is based on the Max unit width OR length being larger than specified.

These conditions can be applied across all pricing methods, including:

  • Fixed cost per order

  • Formula-based pricing

  • Other advanced calculation methods

This gives you flexibility to model surcharges such as oversize fees, handling charges, or special equipment requirements.

Add Surcharge and link to price list.

‼️ Always link the general surcharge to a price list. They need to be 'active' on a transport services before the costs are added.
