The CrossDock function in the Qargo Mobile App allows users to choose from 2 workflow options for either single or multiple pallet scans.

Configuration

When using scanning via the Mobile App, there are some functions that require setup in the Qargo software.

  • Navigate to CONFIGURATION > 'Integrations'

  • From the side menu, select 'Mobile app / Subco portal'

  • Under the Configuration panel there are 2 options that can be toggled on/off:

    • Location scan required.

    • Default keep pallet on trunk when unloading

Location scan required.

When toggled on, this will add the requirement for a location to be scanned before the pallet is scanned.

Default keep pallet on truck when unloading.

With this option toggled ON, the default option there is no location or action option, it will immediately default to scanning pallets.

Bulk Scanning workflow

  • Select scanning mode 'Pallets in Bulk'

  • Select option for Location or Action. (Based on configuration)

  • Scan location / action barcodes

  • Scan all pallets that are to be placed in that location / require that action

When processing multiple pallets, there is the option to switch between options for each pallet as needed. For instance, an incoming vehicle has multiple pallets, some that are to be loaded to the delivery vehicle and others that will be held pending delivery. Use the 'Choose new action' option to change the action.

It is not possible to switch between scanning options for a single pallet and bulk pallets.

Location / Action Options

Store in Depot

Store pallets in the depot. If location is required, users first scan the location barcode of depot location. Proceed to scan each pallet barcode that will be stored at the location. Status generated:

  • Depot scanned in (arrived at depot)

  • Depot stored (Delivery depot held)

To Delivery Vehicle

Move pallets from incoming vehicle (collection vehicle) to the delivery vehicle. If location scan is required, users will scan the location barcode of the delivery vehicle first followed by each pallet to be loaded. Status generated:

  • Depot scanned in (arrived at depot)

  • Depot scanned out (Delivery depot loaded)

Keep on Trunk

In some instances, pallets may arrive at the cross dock and remain on the trunk vehicle; often due to space constraints within the depot. As the pallets are not moved from the vehicle, no location scan is required. Each pallet is still scanned to indicate the arrival at the depot. Status generated:

  • Depot scanned in (Delivery depot held)

  • Collection depot scanned in

Pallet status label will show in the consignment details.

Use the clock icon to view the specific pallet history.

Once all the pallets are scanned, use the 'Finish' Button to complete the process in the app. The statuses will be updated in the Qargo software application. There is no change to any integration updates.
