PN - Palletforce: Label generation

Palletforce labels and barcodes are generated automatically at dispatch or at order import for cross-docking. Learn when labels are created and how to re-trigger if generation fails.

Palletforce provides labels containing barcodes for each pallet. The timing of label generation depends on how the order is being handled.

When labels are generated

Standard dispatch flow

For standard Palletforce orders, label generation occurs automatically after the dispatch task is completed. The consignment must be registered in the Palletforce system before labels can be returned.

Cross-docking (order import)

For orders processed through the Palletforce cross-docking workflow, barcodes and labels are generated at order import or order creation — before the dispatch task is completed.

  • This allows labels to be printed and applied to pallets at the point of collection, enabling scanning throughout the journey.

📚 The barcode format for cross-docking labels follows the Palletforce standard:

506 + {delivery depot code} + {service level} + {tracking number} + {pallet number}

‼️ If the delivery depot or service level changes after a cross-docking barcode is generated, the barcode may no longer be valid. Re-generating the label is recommended if either of these values changes before collection.

If label generation fails

If label generation fails for any reason, label documents will not appear on the order.

  • NAVIGATE to the TRIP page for the relevant order.

  • RE-TRIGGER the dispatch to reinitiate label generation.

‼️ Re-trigger dispatch from TRIP page
